HTML meta tag

Meta tags allow delivering fundamental information about the page (Page explanation, key words, title etc.) to search engines and browsers.

Meta tags are defined within <head></head>

<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="30">
  • description :  Gives general information about the page.
  • keywords : Allows defining key words for the page. If we want to enter more than one key word, we need to separate the words with comma.
  • author :  Gives author information.
  • robots :  Specifies whether your website is indexed or not. If we want it indexed, we use the ‘follow’ option. If we do not want it indexed, we use the ‘nofollow’ option.
